July 10, 1927 - June 27, 2018
Bernice Hesla passed peacefully June 27, 2018 at Penticton Regional Hospital, in the company of her two sons, Terry and Wayne. Bernie was predeceased by her loving husband, Roy Elmer Hesla, 18 months earlier to the day.

She is survived by sons, Terry (Jeanette) and Wayne; four grandchildren, Jonathan (Shannon), Brian (Amy), Gregory, and Michael, and four great grandchildren, Halle, Blake, Olivia and Mira.

Bernie was from a large family with 1 sister and 7 brothers, predeceased by brothers, Clarence (Evelyn) & Lloyd (Beth) of Cabri, Alfred (Bjorg) of Kyle, SK and survived by Allan (Evelena) Saskatoon, Stan (Barb) North Sydney, N.S., Ken (Jan) Parksville, Larry (Jacqueline) Calgary, Gloria (Chris) North Vancouver.  

Born the third child of Olaf and Anne Arnelien in Cabri, Saskatchewan on July 10, 1927, she met Roy in April 1947 and they were engaged by June. They were married for 68 years. Bernie was a wonderful, caring and loving person. She kept up communication with many distant relatives and was a great conduit of family information and history.

She truly cared about her loved ones lives and was a great one to gather family together and make sure they were well fed! Special gratitude to Dr. Lawrie and the nursing staff at Penticton Regional Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations to PRH in Bernie's name will be greatly appreciated.
