Clay was born in Selkirk Manitoba on October 24, 1936. As a youth, he played hockey with the Winnipeg Rangers, and the Flin Flon Bombers, did surveying in the Northern Manitoba, worked at Logging in Terrace BC, served as boat crew on a freight boat on Lake Winnipeg, 16 years as a life guard at Pan Am pool, then onto 14 years with the City of Winnipeg. Clay loved sailing, swimming, wildlife; especially birds, his beloved Schnauzer dogs, photography, driving on Vacations, music and hiking the hills of Naramata. His family was very important, and he kept in close contact with them. He had a wonderful sense of humor and could quickly bring laughter to any conversation. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
