Carmen died peacefully at her home on Friday, January 31, 2020, after a 12 year battle with ALS. She was born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, on June 18, 1938, and lived in the village of Eureka for 19 years. She then moved to the USA where she attended nursing school in Boston. After two years in the US Army, she worked for 20 years as a surgical nurse at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Chicago. In 2005 she moved to Penticton, where she was active in the Oasis United Church. She made many good friends during her lifetime and assures them all she is looking forward to her new adventure. A sincere thanks from Carmen and all her friends to the care aides who have looked after her so well.
There will be a celebration of Carmen's life at Oasis United Church, 2964 Skaha Lake Road, Penticton at 1 pm Saturday, February 8th.
Donations in memory of Carmen may be made to the ALS Society, Oasis United Church, or to a charity of your choice.
