It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Christine Webber on February 11, 2018 in Penticton, BC. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.
She will be dearly missed by her husband Aaron Searle; her mother and stepfather Jo-Anne and Syd Birch; sisters and brothers-in-law Cori and Christian Noel and Jayme and James Friedt; in-laws Bob, Karen, and Craig Searle; nieces and nephews Keenan Noel, Ciara Southgate, Annika Friedt, and Gradon Friedt; step-brothers and sisters-in-law Brian Birch and Siobhan Hennegan and Derek Birch and Erica Lee; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and beloved dogs Keely and Zada. She will be looked after by her big brother Russ, who passed away in 2012.
Chris was born in Calgary on July 27, 1971. In 2007, she moved to the Okanagan, a place she loved so much that she inspired many of her family members to follow. It was here that she met her partner of ten years, Aaron, and adopted their girls, Keely and Zada.
A huge fan of baseball, Chris was an awesome pitcher and loved to watch the Blue Jays. She loved BC wine and had a creative and entrepreneurial spirit. She was incredibly brave, strong, and positive in the face of a difficult illness and was an inspiration to those around her.
A service will be held at the Everden Rust Chapel, 1130 Carmi Avenue, in Penticton on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 2:00 pm, with reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Moog & Friends Hospice House, who were kind and compassionate in Christine's final days. If anyone has stories or memories they would like to share, we invite them to do so at the service.
