Dale passed away suddenly at Penticton Regional Hospital, with his family at his side, from an aggressive cancer (mesothelioma).

He is survived by his daughter Nicole (Tyler) and granddaughter Elekzendrea- Fay (Lekze), son Isaac, sisters Karen (Hartley) and Lori, niece Candice, nephew Shane, great nieces Danielle, Emilia, Isabella and many more extended family.

Dale was born in Oliver, the second son of Stan and Waneta (nee McLean) Spence. Dale was predeceased by his brother Gary. The first two years of his life the family lived in Westbridge, moving to Hedley and Keremeos before locating to Cawston where Dale began his education. The family later moved to Okanagan Falls and Dale attended Okanagan Falls Elementary School and graduated from South Okanagan Secondary School in Oliver.

Through years of family picnics and Sunday drives over logging roads he learned to share his father's love of the outdoors and pride in being a logger. Dale was skilled at numerous aspects of logging which took him to the Coast, the Boundary, Okanagan, Nicola and Thompson valleys as well as camps in the north, most recently in Fort St. James.

One of Dale's proudest moments was the birth of his granddaughter Lekze who gave him great joy with her quick wit and love of the outdoors.

The family would like to thank the staff of PRH and longtime friend Dan Thompson for the thoughtful care and consideration shown to Dale.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside Celebration of Life, to be held at 11:30 Saturday May 19th at the Okanagan Falls Cemetery, followed by a tea at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 227 in Okanagan Falls. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
