DUFFY

DUFFY, Darlene Sheila of Penticton passed away suddenly at the age of 75 years. Darlene was born in Kelowna on March 12, 1942. Her family moved to Portland, Oregon in 1956 but she returned to Canada in 1963 to marry Keith. She taught in elementary schools in Saanich and Delta until her position was eliminated after which, she joined the Royal Bank of Canada in the projects area. Both she and Keith retired from the bank in 1997. During their career they saw much of BC and developed a great fondness for travel. Darlene and Keith have seen much of the world in their various cruises and excursions. She was a long time and active member of the Penticton Newcomers Club and was a regular at Tuesday Morning Bridge. Darlene will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband of 53 years, Keith, her sons Patrick and Michael, and daughter Linda (Clint) Cook, as well as her mother Olga Bates, sisters Rowena (Don), Delrae (Dale), Romona (Al) and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father George Albert Bates and her sister Joan. A celebration of Darlene’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
