David Dietterle - At the age of 90 years, Dave came to the end of his trail and went home to glory in Summerland, BC.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Heather; his sons Dan, Bill and Doug and all their families.
Dave was born to German parents in Kloestitz, Bessarabia, Romania in 1927. They immigrated shortly after to Canada, where he grew up on their farm near Castor, Alberta.
In his early 20's he came out to British Columbia and fell in love with the Central Interior. He became a road builder and worked many years for BC Forest Service and BC Hydro.
Dave's great passion was hunting and fishing with his son's at Government Creek and in the Chilcotin country. He was a heck of an outdoorsman and a good dad who gave his best for his family.
He was tough as nails. Dave was strong in his faith and he always showed it by reaching out to those around him who needed a helping hand.
His stories are great in our minds and they will be passed on at future campfires.
