David George Pike of Penticton, BC passed away peacefully on July 22, 2016 at the age of 84. Dave is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Doreen (nee Parker) and two daughters, Kathy Giene (Darcy) of Peachland, BC, and Nancy Aken (Chris) of Prince George, BC. Dave was a very proud grandfather to his six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Dave also leaves behind two brothers and two sisters. Dave was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Elsie Pike, brother Harold, and sisters Peggy and Dorothy. Originally from Alberta, Dave and Doreen moved to Prince George, then resided in Quesnel for many years before retiring to Keremeos, and then to Penticton. Dave was a lifetime member of the Quesnel Volunteer Firefighters Association and had belonged to the Quesnel Rotary Club. He enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, music and a good card game with their many friends. There will be no service by Dave’s request. The family would appreciate donations in honour of Dave to Trinity Care Centre, 75 Green Ave W, Penticton, BC, V2A 7N6, where he had been living. Dave was truly a kind gentleman with a wonderful sense of humour and always very thoughtful and helpful to his family, friends, and neighbours. He will be missed by all.
