January 28, 1935 - July 21, 2018
It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Derek 'Robbie' Leonard Robinson, golfer and friend to many, who passed away from complications from pneumonia on July 21, 2018.
Robbie was 83 and was well known for his generosity, positive outlook and great sense of humour to all who passed through his life. He was a devoted father who loved his family, friends, food, wine, White Russians (drink, of course), travel and golf, in no particular order.
Robbie is survived by his 2 children, son Derek and daughter Tracy; his 3 grandchildren, Connor, Zach and Talia; and his 2 sisters, Yvonne and Anne. Robbie is preceded in death by his loving wife, Elaine, in 2005.
Robbie's story began on January 28, 1935 in England, the oldest child to Leonard and Doris. From the beginning of his life it was clear his life would be one filled with adventure and that he would be indecorous to the rest.
Whether Robbie was running around at a young age dodging bombs in the streets of London or, serving our country later in life in the Air Force, it was clear his family and friends were foremost in his life. Although Robbie will be sadly missed by all, his legacy and humour will live on through the stories we will tell as we remember him.
The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Penticton Hospital and the Regency Southwood Retirement Resort for their care and compassion for our father.
A Celebration of Robbie's Life will be held in September with event details forthcoming.
