January 1, 1937 - July 3, 2018
Edward passed away peacefully at home, in the early morning hours of July 3, 2018 at the age of 81 years. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Martha, his daughter Stefanie Holick of Calgary, AB, son Mark Holick (Janet) of Whiterock, BC, and daughter Adrianne Fiorentino (Johnny) of Cranbrook, BC. Also left to cherish his memories are his five grandchildren: Cooper, and Kennedy Holick, Isabella, Dominic and Donnovin Fiorentino. He will also be missed by his remaining siblings, many nieces & nephews and his many friends. He was predeceased by his youngest daughter, Larissa Holick, his parents and in-laws, three sisters and one brother.

Edward was born on January 1, 1937, in North Battleford, SK, to Walter and Mary Holick, the fifth of nine children. After attending high school at St. Thomas College in North Battleford, he moved to Saskatoon to attend the Kelsey Institute for barbering. He went on to own his own styling shop until 1975, when he joined Good Host Foods as a sales rep. In 1983, his entire family moved to Penticton, BC, where he was owner/operator of Bonanza Family Restaurant.

Edward was a faithful member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church and belonged to the Knights of Columbus in both Saskatoon and Penticton, where he was Grand Knight and a Faithful Navigator.

Edward instilled in his children his faith in God, love of family, music and his love of sports. He cheered for his three favourite teams, where he saw the Saskatchewan Roughriders win three Grey Cups, the Blue Jays win two World Series, but still waited for the Maple Leafs to win the Stanley Cup. Dzadzo never missed a ball game or hockey game of his grandchildren.

He was very proud all his grandkids, whether it was sports or music. He had a great sense of humour and always had a smile for everyone.

Funeral Liturgy of Ukrainian Rite will be Tuesday, July 10, at 10:30 am, at St. John Vianney Church, Penticton, BC. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Canadian Cancer Society for pancreatic research.
