Evelyn Richardson, a long-time resident of Okanagan Falls, passed away peacefully at Haven Hill Care Home on December 12, 2016. Evelyn is survived by family members Gary (Paula), loving husband Ronald, sons Larry (Dillys), Rick (Cathy), Glen (Debbie), Dale (Sandra), Greg (Joanne), Brad (Lisa) and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Evelyn was predeceased by her brother Arthur, mother Laura, father Seldon and stepmother Mary.
Evelyn was born in St. Peters Harbour, PEI on January 13, 1936. Evelyn and Ronald were married in Galt, Ontario on April 8, 1957. There they started a family of six boys and moved to the Okanagan in 1969 where they settled in Okanagan Falls, BC. Evelyn worked at the Okanagan Falls Pharmacy where her caring nature and warm smile welcomed people for over thirty years.
Evelyn loved her family life; she was always happiest attending or hosting family gatherings and Sundays when her boys came for dinner. She enjoyed listening to their boisterous conversations, loud laughter and watching her grandchildren grow. She took great pride in her family and home.
In her quiet moments, Evelyn loved listening to country music, baking for her family and having friends and neighbours drop in for coffee. There was always a piece of pie, cake or doughnuts and time for a visit no matter who it was. Evelyn was a gentle soul with a big heart and a kind spirit. She is sadly missed by those who knew and loved her. The Richardson family would like to especially thank the Haven Hill staff on Upper Grape floor for their compassion and dedicated care of Evelyn.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the warmth of spring, Evelyn’s favourite time of year.
