August 22, 1935 - October 13, 2020
Fred was born & grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan. He moved to Penticton where he met Wendy.
He worked at Bella Parts and later moved to Vernon with Wendy and had a fulfilling career of over 35 years with OK Welders - when customer service existed and meant something!
He had a warm, calm manner and a big heart. He didn't engage in conflict nor say an ill word towards anyone. Fred always had a smile on his face & a toothpick in his mouth.
He was a member of Gyro, Lions Club & The Valley GayLords Car Club-his knowledge of classic cars was unbeatable! He was somewhat of a pool shark, a mover & a shaker on the dance floor, enjoyed gardening, classic cars, loved his jazz & golf, but mostly treasured time with his family.
In later years he enjoyed sitting on his patio with a beer, just watching, listening, relaxing in the warmth of the sun-enjoying & living in the moment-something we could all learn from these days.
Fred is remembered with love, wine, jazz and spaghetti by his wife, Wendy of 49 years, his 4 children: Raymond Filbrandt, Janette Smart, Lynnaya Munro & Azure Kinch, & their spouses. His 8 grandchildren & 1 great grandson whom he treasured & was so proud, & 1 sister, Laurie Rieger.
