Gordon Dean Kickbush

December 22, 2017

Dec 22, 2017
It is with enlightened heart that we announce that Gordon has been welcomed to the Grand Lodge above, after a short illness, on December 22, 2017 at the age of 86 years.

He moved to Penticton in the late 1950's and he subsequently drove long-haul trucks to the Western US and prairies. He gradually slowed his driving to spend more time with his growing family.

While working for SD 67, he supported a number of local businesses such as Great Valley's Radio and owned an apartment block. He also had time to build 2 houses on the original property he purchased on the West Bench where he continued to live until his death.

Gordon was active in retirement maintaining his beloved log cabin. He spent many weeks each summer and loved to reminisce about the South Okanagan history.

While he loved many things, his greatest love was for his beloved wife of 65 years, Hazel (Babe). Together they forged a great life when things were tough.

A 50 year+ proud Masonic Brother, Gordon was Past Master of Hedley Lodge #43, member of Penticton Chapter #22 Royal Arch Masons, Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests, Grand College of England & Wales Fraser Tabernacle #163, York Rite College #44, Zenith Council #16, Grand Cryptic Rite Masons of Western Canada, R&SM as well as Past District Deputy Grand Master of District #10 to the Grand Lodge of BC, A.F. & A.M. and Official Representative of Grand Lodge of BC & Yukon to the Grand Lodge of Minnesota.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by family, friends & Brethren.

A Masonic Funeral will be held in the spring of 2018 in Penticton,

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Okanagan Neurological Society. Condolences may be sent to the family through Hanson's Arbor Funeral.

Your condolences will be approved within one business day. You will need a valid Facebook account. Please email us if you have any questions.
