October 7, 1943 - March 6, 2025
Gordon Peter Kerr passed away peacefully at the Hamlets Retirement Residence Penticton BC on March 6, 2025. He was born October 7, 1943 in Winnipeg Manitoba, but spent most of his life in the Okanagan.
Gordon lived an interesting and diverse life. His many hobbies included gardening, building canoes, fishing and beer and winemaking. Gordon was always interested in how things worked and was the ultimate tinkerer. Gordon is survived by his wife, Janet of 45 years.
Together, they created and tended their beautiful garden. They entertained many friends over the years. They were very active with the Penticton physiotherapists, celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmases, with 30 lb turkeys and organized many camping and skiing trips, water and snow.
As an architectural draftsman, Gordon was involved in and very proud of Penticton's pier on Okanagan Lake, as well as additions and sunrooms to many homes in Penticton.
Gordon was involved in the Masonic Order and was Master of Orion Lodge No. 51 in Penticton in 2001.
He was a big supporter of the organization for their philanthropic and community support, and was instrumental in having the Orion Lodge Centennial Commemorative marble obelisk installed at Okanagan Lake Park.
Gordon will be remembered for the many lives he touched. May he rest in peace.
