Heinz Friedrich 'Fred' Traupe passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family Friday, November 17, 2017 at the age of 86 years.
He will be remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 50 years, Rita-Anne Traupe, daughters Jennifer of Penticton, BC, Julie-Anne (Matt) of London, UK, Katie (Paul) of Perth, AUS, and Kimmi (Rick) of Edmonton, AB; and grandchildren Rhian, Chanelle, Tyler, Brandon, and Millie.
He was predeceased by granddaughter Madison (2009) and brother Klaus (1997).
Fred was well known for his friendly charm, sense of humor, and positive outlook on life. His passions were family and flying. His many years as an Airline Captain allowed him to see the world. He loved good food, great beer, hot sunshine, and anywhere he could be near water.
After retirement, Fred volunteered much of his time with the local air cadets, passing on his love of flying and travel to many. He lived a full life and with that achieved everything he ever wanted to do. He leaves behind great wisdom.
A private celebration of Fred's life will be held next summer.
