1928 – 2016

Ian Norman MacLeod was born to John and Catherine MacLeod January 27, 1928 in Nelson and died peacefully November 26, 2016 at Trinity Care Centre in Penticton BC. After being raised in Proctor BC he attended UBC. Ian was a school teacher working throughout the province, finally settling in Penticton. He was an enthusiastic volunteer for his church, many charitable organizations and events, notably the SS Sicamous Restoration and the Terry Fox Foundation. He continued to be involved with Badminton and other sports, both playing and coaching until well after his retirement. He is survived by his former wife and lifelong friend Marina, his sister Peggy (Eric), nephew Jack (Linda), niece Heather and their families. He was also survived by many friends, including four legged ones. The family would like to thank Dr. Tatham and the staff at Trinity for their excellent care. Ian chose not to have a funeral service. For anyone wishing to donate in his memory his favorite charities are The Terry Fox Foundation, The Kootenay Lake Historical Society, The SS Sicamous and any bursary furthering the education of deserving young students.
