In loving memory ~
The family of Janet Beydak of Penticton is saddened to announce her passing on Nov. 1, 2022 at the age of 69. A breast cancer survivor of 8 years, she succumbed to other complications of the disease. Janet was born in Darwen, Lancashire, England to Jack and Nellie Ashcroft. She immigrated to Canada at the age of four with her mom and sister, Carol. After graduation, she worked for Sears in the catalogue division and then followed her parents to settle in Penticton where she obtained employment with the government in child protection and married her ever-loving husband, Al (Alby-Albin) in 1988. She had so many fond memories from times spent volunteering at Legion Br. 40 in Penticton.
Janet is survived by three step daughters, Darla Van Larre of New Westminster, Tracee McEwen of Florida and Jennifer Sanders of Penticton, with whom she had a very close mother-daughter bond; beloved family cat, Joey; sister, Carol; niece, Jonel Ydse and nephew, Jordy Ydse; second cousin, Cory Slavin; cousins in England, Geoff and Elaine Horrocks, Julie and Adriane Wilde, Mark Ashcroft and Val Ikin and by her husband of 34 years, Al. Janet will also be missed by her close friend, Helen Vallee, her mentor with recovery from cancer, Chemo Kitty, Eileen Varga and many more extended family and friends. Al and family wish to thank the nurses of Level 6 at Penticton Hopsital for the wonderful care they offered.
Janet's passion and love was to travel and see the world, especially Jamaica, which she has done and now she is off to see the rest.
A private family gathering to remember Janet will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation for Oncology will be appreciated.
God saw you getting tired
And the cure was not to be
So He wrapped you in his loving arms
And whispered, "Come with me".
You suffered much in silence
Your spirit did not bend
You faced your pain with courage
Until the very end.
You tried so hard to stay with us
Your fight was all in vain
God took you in his loving arms
And saved you from all pain.
