February 1, 1928 - July 4, 2019
Joan Campbell McComb (Nonie) passed away peacefully in her 90th year at 100 Mile Hospital on July 4, 2019 with family by her side. Left to mourn are her children, Jock (Kathy) McComb of 100 Mile, Randy (Ivone) McComb of 100 Mile, Rod (Pam) McComb of Penticton, Rebecca (Lawrence) Johnson of 100 Mile, 7 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, ex daughter in law Maria McComb, her nephew Craig (Denise) Jamieson of Boise Idaho, and many dear friends.
She is predeceased by her granddaughter Rachel McComb, brother Ian Jamieson and former husband BJ McComb.
Joan was born on February 1, 1929 in Castor, AB to Ron and Ella Jamieson. Joan's dad was the Royal Bank Manager at that time. His job moved the family on to Sylvan Lake and Innisfail. They settled in Calgary where Joan spent her high school years. She wasn't much for school but loved dancing, necking and hanging out with the smart kids. In 1950 she met and married Beverly James McComb of Toronto Island Ont. They then moved to Sarnia and eventually to N Van BC where they raised their four kids in Norgate Park. They divorced in 1972 and she moved to Penticton.
Joan was a woman of many talents, decorating, crafting, scrapbooking, painting, sewing and so much more. She was also a very sharp dresser even in care she looked good. Joan lived at the 108 for several years and worked at The Hills as a Masseuse. She then retired and moved back to Penticton. Joan was one of a kind, silly, outrageous and very feisty. She will be missed.
The family would like to thank the staff of Millsite Lodge, 100 Mile Hospital, Dr. Saad and Hospice for their love and support in Joan's final days. There will be no service by request.
