A long time resident of Penticton, passed away peacefully on January 19 at the age of 82.  He was at home on his farm, where he lived and worked for 41 years.  His partner of 32 years, Judy Lockhart, and his daughters Linda (Dougherty) and Barbara (Rigg) were with him.

Bill was born in Abbey, Saskatchewan in 1935.  He graduated from the RCMP academy in Regina in 1956.  He moved to BC and settled in Penticton in 1958, where he started working as a commercial vehicle inspector.  After 35 years of service, he retired but stayed active on his farm and involved with his passion of raising Arabian horses.

He is survived by his sister, Jackie Braaten, of Abbey, Saskatchewan, his grandchildren: Tanis Deuschle, Robyn Deuschle, Madeline Rigg, Mackenzie Rigg, and great-grand children Noah Deuschle and Savannah Campbell.

The family would like to thank the patient and caring staff at the Penticton Regional Hospital.  Special thanks to Rhonda and Carrie, the palliative care nurses, who provided support in Bill's final days at home.

A service will be held January 27, 2018, at 1:00 pm at Everden Rust Funeral Services, 1130 Carmi Ave., Penticton.
