Petschulat, Judy (nee Hoffman)

Judy Petschulat passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on May 16th, 2017 at the age of 69 years old in Penticton, BC. Her positive attitude towards life was an inspiration to many.

Judy was a proud mother to Salina and Stephen and grandmother to Monika, Becca, Benjamin, and Emma. She enjoyed managing several businesses with her husband Peter and together they worked throughout Alberta and British Columbia. In her later years Judy devoted much of her time to community organizations as a volunteer. She was very active in the multiple sclerosis and cancer communities and helped teach new English to new immigrants to Canada.

Throughout her life, Judy was devoted to her friends and extended family. She enjoyed travelling with Peter and talked often of their trips to Europe and throughout North America. Judy had an great sense of humour and loved the time she spent with her friends. Despite many health challenges throughout her life Judy remained incredibly positive and upbeat and even reached out to others facing the same challenges to provide support. She loved leading an active life, attending yoga, hitting the farmers market, painting classes and going to the pool.

Judy was born to Edward and Violet Hoffman in Vancouver on Sept. 17, 1947. She is survived by her husband Peter, her children Salina Petschulat-Curtis (Darcy) and Stephen Petschulat (Courtnay) her grandchildren Monika, Becca, Ben, and Emma, and her siblings Lynne, Melody, Lyle, Leonard, and Lance.

A Celebration of Life service and reception will be held for Judy at 2:00pm on June 11th, 2017 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Penticton, BC.
