We say goodbye to a loving husband, father and friend after a courageous struggle with a stroke in 2015. Julius Kovacs passed away peacefully in his sleep with his family at his side at Trinity Care Center, Penticton, BC on January 10, 2017.

Julius is survived by his loving and devoted wife Violet Mary Kovacs and his two daughters; Linda Marie Kovacs and Cathy Ann Talman (Richard), niece Ildi Soos and many extended family members both in Canada and Hungary. Julius was predeceased by his father and mother Vendal and Ilona Kovacs, sister and brother in law Margaret and Tibor Milea.

Julius was born on November 17, 1937 in a small town, Szentpeterur, Hungary. He immigrated to Vancouver, Canada in 1956 during the Hungarian Revolution. He met the love of his life Violet in 1957 in Penticton, BC and they were married on November 17, 1959.

Julius had many occupations and trades during his life time and he retired as an orchardist on Middle Bench Road in Penticton, BC.

Julius loved life. He was a keeper of the land and he had a passion for the outdoors. He had many loves but most of all he loved to fish and hunt and share a good glass of wine or two with his family and friends. He was boisterous and outgoing and had a smile that would light up a room.

The Celebration of Life for Julius we be held at Providence Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 1258 Main Street, Penticton, BC V2A 5G1 on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
