October 24, 1923 - June 9, 2021
June McFarland passed away peacefully on June 9, 2021 at the Penticton Regional Hospital. June is survived by her two sons David James (Charlotte) and Richard (Penny), 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Her niece Pat Campling, and her nieces Roberta Carleton (Jim), Debra Gale, and grandniece Laura Carleton with whom she had a special relationship.
They spent many hours and shared adventures with June. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, David McFarland.
With a beautiful smile and a twinkle in her eye, June charmed everyone she met. Born and living in Penticton for 97 years, she and her husband Dave had an active social life and contributed to local and natural history societies making many lifelong friends. With her vast knowledge of local flora and fauna, June was the go-to-person on long nature hikes in her younger years.
Exercise classes, and especially Yoga, were passions of June's. She practiced Yoga for over 50 years, up until a week before her death. She was impressive and always made an impact on people. She chose to move to Charles Manor in later years and continued to make friends and to remain an independent, forward thinking person who would decide her own destiny. Her sudden death was a surprise to doctors, friends and family.
June will be sincerely missed by all who knew her and will leave a large hole in our lives.
No service by request, interment at a later date.
