It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jure Salopek at the age of 89, a resident of Penticton for over 45 years. He is survived and will be sadly missed by his loving wife Miroslava, 2 daughters, 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 sister, family and friends in Croatia and Canada.
He is predeceased by his parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister and 1 daughter. Jure was born in Selo Salopek, Ogulin Lika, Croatia.
He immigrated to Canada in 1956 and worked in mines, tunnels and dams across the country, proudly contributing to the industrial growth of Canada.
