In Loving Memory ~
With sorrow and love, our family announces the peaceful passing of Karl Friedrich Goeckel on July 15, 2022.
Charlie was predeceased by his wife Johanna in 2019 and survived by family: children Tom (Sheila), Susan, Angela (Dale), grandchildren Nicole (Ray), Chad, Noah, Aidan, Cole (Danielle), Carli, great-grandchildren Konnor and Korben. Charlie is also survived by his sisters Christa and Renate (Manfred).
Charlie was born June 18, 1934, in Durlach, Germany to Ernst Lorenz Goeckel and Elizabeth Kahrmann. Charlie grew up with his five siblings: Ella, Emma, Christa, Renate, and Klaus.
Charlie immigrated to Canada at the age of 20 and arrived in Penticton on May 15, 1955, where he was joined by his wife-to-be, Johanna Keller. They were married on June 1, 1956.
For almost 50 years Charlie worked in millwork. His shop remains open to this day.
Charlie was known as "Mr. Soccer." He coached soccer and minor league baseball for years. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, gardener and boxer.
For Charlie, family always came first. Befittingly, he passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family.
