Kathleen Mary Wardlaw passed away on December 30th in Penticton hospital at the age of 87.

She was born in 1930 to parents Alfred and Sarah Hanson in Manchester England.

Kathleen is lovingly remembered by her children: Hilary (Rick), Amanda, Alistair (Julie), grandchildren Elisa (Anthony), Ryan (Ashley), Jenn (Brandon), Shenda, Jared (Teresa), Laura, Sarah and great grandchildren Lincoln, Ivy and Sawyer and extended family in England and Scotland.

She was predeceased by her husband David Wardlaw and younger brother David Hanson.

Kathleen earned a degree in Home Economics from Edinburgh,Scotland and taught in Salford,England. In 1970 her family immigrated to Canada and settled in Penticton. Kathleen was an inspiring, adventurous woman dedicated to all of her family.

She is loved and admired by all who knew her. She was a fabulous cook who never turned away an extra person at the dinner table. She had a passion for sewing, designing new outfits and hand knitting sweaters for all her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed the Penticton Gardening Club, painting

with Summerland Pleasure Painters and volunteering in the reading program for elementary students.

Wherever she went she inspired others. Having survived breast cancer she encouraged post op patients with hospital visits and reassurance. Kathleen was a strong spiritual and practical person with a heart of gold. We will miss her more than words can say.

A memorial service will be held at Bethel Church, 945 Main Street, Penticton on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at 1 pm.
