December 30, 1953 – October 5, 2022
In Loving Memory ~
On the morning of October 5, 2022, an amazing individual by the name of Laurie Paxman passed away, aged 68 in Penticton, B.C. Laurie was born to Elizabeth Jordan and Emmet Nelson in Moosejaw, Saskatchewan, on December 30th, 1953.
Laurie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. In her life, Laurie experienced hardship, loss, and struggle, but always managed to be a beacon of love and strength to those around her. Laurie enjoyed watching her favorite television shows, and especially loved the popular game show The Price is Right.
Every day, she would partake in guessing the bids with whomever she was watching with (usually her husband Bob). Laurie also loved to cook and bake and would regularly make her famous butter tarts with enough to go around for all. She always encouraged others to pursue their passions, live happily, and most importantly to love and be kind.
Laurie is survived by her husband of 31 years Robert (Bob) Paxman, her children Rochelle and Brent, as well as her 10 grandchildren; Jessica, Syndi, Shone, Joshua, Logan, Kayla, Keisha, Tia, Alisa, and Erika.
She is predeceased by her daughter Tammy Myiot, mother Elizabeth (Betty) Myiot, and father Emmett (B-papa) Nelson.
The Celebration of life is being held at New Beginnings Church in Penticton on Thursday October 27th at 2pm. Laurie will be deeply missed and will forever live on in our hearts. We will miss you Gramma.
