It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Lloyd Witkowski. Lloyd passed away during the afternoon of January 18th at home surrounded by loved ones at the age of 73. He was predeceased by his parents Karl and Margaret, and sisters Beverley and Dianne.
Lloyd is survived by his wife of 51 years Diane. Children Cindy (Dave), Dean (Cindy), Robin (Liberto). His grandchildren Sarah, Justin, Dylan, Terri-lynn, Tyler, Haylee and their families. Two great grandchildren Callie and Daxtyn. Siblings Edward (Delphine), Ronald (Bernice), Sylvia and Lorraine.
He is also survived by his best friends Dave and Karen, as well as many other family members and friends that will miss him dearly including his dog Tara.
Born in Edenwold Saskatchewan in 1947, Lloyd moved to Penticton with his wife and children in 1976. Lloyd worked as an auto mechanic for 29 years and was respected for both his knowledge and strong work ethic. He loved anything to do with music, camping, building, playing pool, watching sports, spending time with his grandchildren, and could always be counted on to be the life of the party when it came to karaoke.
He spent countless hours at the Legion and Eagles here in Penticton as well as in Oliver and was always known as a social butterfly. He was perceived as a father figure by many and was always there to support those who were close to him.
There will be no service at this time, celebration of life may take place at a later date when restrictions are lifted. It is the families wishes that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in lieu of flowers being sent.
