Died at the Penticton Regional Hospital on Thursday, October 19, 2017.
Marleen is survived by her husband, Mel of Penticton; daughters, Marina Higgs (Brent Aspinall) of Tsawwassen; Kelly de Maere (John) of Surrey; sons, Brian Higgs of Surrey and Darren Higgs of Vancouver; grandchildren, Drew, Dalyce, Taylor, Cayley, Jeyda, Ari, Devon and Joshua; sister, Florence Kernachan of Kamloops and brother, Mervin Brown (Ferne) of Crofton as well as many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by brother, Loyal Brown and sister, Lenora Pearson.
Marleen is very loved by her family and friends. Her priority was looking after all of us and her dog, Koko. Marleen was a gracious host who welcomed everyone into her home and created wonderful meals for all of us.
She was the wise one in our family and was called Shama by her grandchildren. Marleen will be heartfully missed.
A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Everden Rust Funeral Services, 1130 Carmi Ave., Penticton.
In lieu of flowers donations to the MS Society would be appreciated.
