It is with great sadness that the family of Roy Cooper announces his passing on November 9, 2021. Born in Victoria, BC on September 26, 1936 to Richard and Agnes Cooper. Roy was raised in Penticton, BC and graduated Penticton High School in 1954.
He enlisted in the Armoured Corps, Canadian Army. Roy served in military bases across Canada. He spent 14 years in NATO Forces in England, Germany and Belgium. Roy was part of the Canadian Defense Staff in London England as well as Iserlohn, Werl and Lahr Germany. His time in Europe also included 4 years at SHAPE in Casteau, Belgium. Roy also served with the United Nations in Egypt, Lebanon, Israel, Cyprus and the Golan Heights.
Upon retirement Roy lived 23 years in Christina Lake, BC and moved to Chilliwack, BC in 2015.
He was a longtime member of the Lord Strathcona's Horse (Royal Canadians) Association and Royal Canadian Legion.
He is predeceased by his brothers, Richard Harold Cooper and Frederick Douglas Cooper. He is survived by his sister Doreen Marie Marchant and his seven nephews and nieces.
