October 2, 1944 – Prince Albert, SK

January 5, 2016 – Penticton, BC

Terry passed away peacefully on January 5, 2017 at the age of 72 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He will be lovingly remembered by Judy, his best friend and wife of 45 years; his son Scott (Christie Safonovs) and daughter Karen (Mike) Peckford; and his three grandchildren, Shayla and Sydney Brown, and Thomas Peckford. He is also survived by his sister Marilyn (Steve) Vancsok; his brother-in-law David (Diane) Simms; and several nieces and nephews. Terry and Judy moved to Penticton from the lower mainland in 1972. In 1976 Terry began working as a purchasing agent for the Ministry of Highways until he retired in 2003 from Argo Road Maintenance. He loved the sunshine of the Okanagan; enjoying many summers at the Gallagher Lake Campground with his family and friends, and in his later years spending afternoons with Judy at Skaha Lake. Terry and Judy enjoyed their daily walks, spending time with their friends, whether it was going out for a meal or meeting for a coffee at the food court, and going on casino bus tours. Terry was well loved by those who knew him for his friendly disposition, kind heart and gentle soul. He will be sadly missed, but we are thankful that his pain and suffering is over. No service by request. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Terry’s name to the Penticton Regional Hospital Patient Care Tower at 550 Carmi Ave, Penticton, BC, V2A 3G6, or Prostate Cancer Canada at 2 Lombard Street, 3rd Floor, Toronto Ontario M5C 1M1.
