Theresa Irene Bremner (nee Stewart)

December 14, 2016

It was with great sadness that the family of Theresa announced her passing on December 14 2016 at the age of 93 in Penticton BC. She was born in Saskatoon SK. where she will be interred with her beloved family. Terry, as she was affectionately known, is survived by her son Ray Bremner (Beverly), daughter Betty Lynne Fusick, six grandchildren, Lorne Bremner (Jody), Dawn Emson (Noel), Kim Fusick (Jody), Dalyce Taylor (Marv), Ryan Fusick (Leigh) Janine Straf (Kelly) and 15 great-grandchildren, her brother Bud Stewart (Jeanette), her sister Mary Hendy, numerous nieces and nephews. Terry was predeceased by William (Bill) Bremner and six siblings, Ray Stewart, Ellen Moar, Frank Stewart, Julie Mitchell, Ross Stewart, Eva Stewart and her son-in-law Tommy Fusick. Terry made a contribution to the Canadian War effort, she joined the Royal Canadian Army and served in Ottawa as a secretary, and like many Canadians she did it quietly and effectively. After her release she moved from Saskatoon to Prince Albert to work and raise her family. Her lifetime career was in radio and television working at CKBI in Prince Albert SK for over 25 years. She became the record librarian, choosing play lists for on air programming for the disc jockeys. This was the perfect position for her because of her passion, knowledge and great love for music. Her mother, Hazel Stewart was a piano teacher and Theresa learned to play at a very young age. She was an organist at their Parish when she was just in her teens, playing on Sundays for the Celebration of Mass. At any family gathering you would find Terry at the piano playing for sing-alongs and playing duets with her sister Mary. She instilled a passion for music in her children and grandchildren. After leaving CKBI Terry moved to Kamloops BC and worked at CFJC until her retirement in 1988. During her retirement Terry spent time travelling and enjoying her family and friends. Terry was a compassionate woman who was accepting of everyone, always there for anyone in need if just lending an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on. Her advice was always respected and appreciated. Her marvelous sense of humor was with her to the end brightening the day for her caregivers. Always a friend. Terry left a great legacy of love for her family and all who knew her and she will be missed. Always Remembered Always Loved. Into the arms of The Lord.
