In loving memory ~
Vivian Zonia Dolezsar went to be with the Lord with her family by her side March 20, 2025, at the age of 91 years. Vivian will be remembered and sadly missed by her children and their families Catherine (Wilfred) of Penticton, Robert of Osoyoos, and Patricia (Gord) of Okanagan Falls, as well as 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, and brother Joseph (Julie) of Saskatoon. She was sadly predeceased by her husband Louis Francis, son Kenneth, and sister Diane.
Vivian was born in Tway, Saskatchewan July 31, 1933. She started nursing in her early 20's in Wakaw, Saskatchewan. (Louis) Francis was an ambulance driver at the time and they met at University Hospital in Saskatoon and married in 1955. After having four children, she worked full-time nursing and eventually moved to a supervisor position for many years until moving to Summerland in the summer of 1974. There she continued nursing at a much smaller hospital in Summerland and retired early at the age of 58 because of failing health.
Vivian was always busy doing something for her family and dedicated church life. Her favorite pass time was knitting and sewing and listening to the birds singing. She enjoyed most of all the hummingbirds that would visit her every summer at her home in Summerland. She loved working in her garden of many roses, flowers, and vegetables preserving as much as she could. She was also a very talented singer and played the piano. As a member of the Penticton Lite Opera Society, she enjoyed preforming in many musical skits and plays.
Thank you to all the staff at Haven Hill Retirement home for the excellent compassionate care they provided for Vivian over the past three years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on April 11, 2025, at 10:30 A.M. at Providence Funeral Home 13205 Rosedale Avenue, Summerland with Father Steven DeLallo officiating and interment to follow at Canyon View Cemetery.
