KARNINE, WOLFGANG

Wolfgang passed away suddenly at home on the 30th of May 2017 at the age of 77. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Wally, his two sons, Heijo (Michelle) of Ottawa; Wolli (Donna) of Penticton; his two grandchildren, Kristine and Nicole Karnine of Ottawa.

Wolfgang was born in Germany in 1940 and immigrated to Canada with his wife Wally in 1965, settling in Penticton. Wolfgang worked at Okanagan Manufacturing and Travel Mate, building and designing RV’s and 5th wheels.

During the 1970s and early 1980s, Wolfgang was an avid race car driver and active member of the Penticton Speedway, winning multiple Mini-Stock Championships before moving on to race in the Superstock Series. Wolfgang enjoyed going camping and his family will fondly remember spending time fishing and dirt bike riding. After retirement, he continued to tinker with anything electronic; building and flying RC gliders and planes.

There will be no service by request and in lieu of flowers; a donation may be made to the Penticton SPCA.
