Disgusting behaviour at city hall

Canadian Dictionary: Obstruct — to block or fill a passage with obstacles or an obstacle. To get

in the way of so as to hide from sight. To hinder.

I am able to walk past Paul Braun without being harassed. He is not blocking or impeding me in any way, nor is he asking for money.

It disturbs me that he’s sitting on the cold street in winter, and that he’s homeless. But, I champion his right to sit on the sidewalk beside the “kindness meter” if that’s where he wants to sit.

Maybe we need a “disgusted meter” beside city hall and we could register our opinions about how our city is governed.

Where’s our humanity? Aren’t we better than this?

I hope he gets thousands of dollars worth of tickets that he can’t pay then maybe we can give him a place to live and help him move in a better direction. And you know what? We could feel good about that choice and good about our city council, too.
