Grower supports HST

They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away.

They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away.

But as an orchard owner in Summerland, and the president of the BC Fruit Growers’ Association, I can tell you that the HST keeps the tax collector from bothering me.

How can anyone vote against keeping the 10 per cent HST and bring the 12 per cent PST-GST back?

It’s not just the fact that the PST we paid on any supplies we needed for our business was a hard cost. It’s not just that those costs had to be passed on to our customer or that each and every month there were two tax filings.

It’s the fact that returning back to the old 12 per cent PST-GST system is bad for business, customers and families.

The 12 per cent PST-GST will cost all of us more. Why would anyone want a system that takes money away from our wallets and hurts our economy?

I don’t — and that’s why I’m saying No to going back to the PST-GST.
