Hospital service up in the air

Re your article of Aug. 24, about the helicopter landing for Penticton Regional Hospital. The article mentions that Kelowna General Hospital does have a pad on their new tower but it is not operational yet. No mention was made as to why it is not operational, nor as to when it is expected to be operational.

I would have to believe that more persons, other than myself, would be wondering, if PRH were to obtain a heli pad, would it be put into operation, or end up as the Kelowna General Hospital has, “not operational yet”?

If my memory serves me well, wasn’t there a not-so-distant news cast about discrepancies concerning the Kelowna General Hospital? What is there to ensure Penticton taxpayers that the same will not happen at PRH?
