LETTER: A few suggestions for Penticton

I have lived here for 26 years and I love Penticton. I have four suggestions to make the city better.

I have lived here for 26 years and I love Penticton.

I have four suggestions: 1) Lower volume levels at all concerts. We are not deaf. 2) I would like to see a city bylaw that would require all motorcycles to reduce their noise levels, or get ticketed. 3) Do not, I repeat, do not, install paid parking at any of the beach areas Skaha Lake, Okanagan Lake or Riverside Drive. One of the poorest ideas for promoting tourism for our city where tourists come to enjoy our beaches and spend money for local business. Why wreck what’s working? 4)  I would like to see just one time, an old time fiddle dance band booked into Gyro Sunshine Cabaret. Most of the audience are seniors and if you notice, they start going home way before the concert is over. How about giving us some of our music for a change? Might be surprised to see how many of us would get up and dance.
