Letter: Cancelled Air Canada flights have cost a customer

Air Canada has let down the people of the South Okanagan

Penticton Western News letters to the editor.

I am writing on behalf of the business and vacation travellers who use the Penticton to Vancouver early morning and late evening flights.

The decision to withdraw these flights is not only inconvenient but means many of us will be forced to use the Kelowna airport for our travel needs. Countless women and men are dependent on the 6 a.m. flight from Penticton to Vancouver to accommodate our business appointments as well as meeting connecting flights. It is many of those same people who you see on the 10 p.m. flight from Vancouver back to Penticton.

I foresee many of us using the Kelowna airport for our South Okanagan to Vancouver travel. If that becomes reality, you can be assured I will be choosing WestJet whenever possible. Sadly, Air Canada has let down the people of the South Okanagan.

I urge you to reconsider the decision to withdraw the early morning and late evening Penticton to Vancouver flight.

Laura J. Turnbull
