Letter: Get informed on City of Penticton business

Then attend the city’s meeting on Nov. 23 and be prepared to ask questions to which you deserve answers.

Mayor, council and city hall staff continue to ignore the concerns of residents and because of this “we know best” attitude they are now embroiled in not one but two lawsuits as residents have taken to the only avenue open to them, an unbiased judgment by the courts.

We are not, as stated by some, against moving Penticton forward, but we have concerns with the proposed locations i.e. Skaha Park and now Kinney Avenue. Skaha Park is not a good location for construction of more business and Kinney Avenue construction will jeopardize the safety of children. If you attended rallies at Skaha park and Gyro park and if you have a concern with council’s agreement with Trio Marine then I would encourage you to attend a meeting Nov. 19. It will be an open house meeting at the Senior Centre 2965 South Main from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a discussion of the settlement agreement and the Skaha Marina Enhanced Marina Development. You will understand that city hall is still peddling the same old merchandise wrapped up in a fancy new package.

Come out and be informed. Then attend the city’s meeting on Nov. 23 and be prepared to ask questions to which you deserve answers.
