Help end homelessness

More and more people are ending up homeless. The reason is not that they are lazy — some have good jobs but they are at minimum wage and they are trying so hard.

Now with rents going even higher and higher they do not stand a hope or prayer. With the disabled, we are allowed so much for rent — $375. What we have to do, and fast, is either put rent freezes back on (as it stands one raises to $1,000 a month then all do) plus lower rents to where people can afford the places. They also have to take hydro into consideration. Then the young families will come back to live here.

Where does it end? When rents go so high, and that is with hydro, people just up and leave town. If your income is only so much then you should not be paying more then one-third for rent. Sure some will pay less but the ones that make big money will pay more so it would balance out. Let’s solve the homeless problem fast and give all a great Christmas. To have a home is a great Christmas present.

You can keep building for low income housing but when rents go to high still will not be enough.
