Letter: Leave crosswalks alone

White stripes are more visible
12239552_web1_PWN-T-Letters-660

Crosswalks are painted with large white stripes to make them easily visible to approaching motorists.

To paint them in rainbow stripes would make them much more difficult to see, especially at night or in heavy rain or fog, or by people who are colour-blind.

This is a safety issue. The crosswalks should not be changed. There are other ways to honour the LGBT community.
