Parks will be defended

Rumour has it that the word “unencumbered” is causing a big problem with the parks and recreation planning committee.

Leave that word out and it leaves the door open for commercial development on public park land. In its present state, is Lakawanna Park a park or a restaurant with a small play area?

The planning committee has been put between a rock in the park and a hard place.

Un-commercialized, free, public parks in Penticton are treasured and will be defended, by those who love them, for as long as it takes. Gloves off?
