Phase out fossil fuels
To give our grandchildren a chance to live in a safe and peaceful world, we need to start phasing out fossil fuels.
This cannot happen, until we stop subsidizing those industries! Instead, we should use our tax dollars to invest in a clean-energy economy featuring green-collar jobs, while supporting those Canadians currently employed in the fossil-fuel industry to transition to this economy.
If we — represented by our governments — need to compromise with powerful corporations, let’s subsidize them to lead the transition to sustainable energy production. But we have to stop subsidizing fossil fuel extraction.
