I would also like to sincerely thank the City of Penticton bylaw department

A couple of months ago I phoned the city bylaw department to inquire about the “unsightly property” bylaw with respect to the Husky station across from Cherry Lane Shopping Centre.

The yellow paint had faded, cracked, and peeled, and had not been maintained for some time. The station was starting to look pretty bad.

After a little initial confusion over who was covered under the bylaw, they sprung into action and got the ball rolling. Apparently this went all the way to the national head office in order to approve funding to effect the necessary repairs.

If you drive by that station today, you will see landscaping has been carried out, as well as fresh paint bordering the curb line and their cement barricade as well. The station looks much better.

I would like to thank Peter Weeber for the clarification of the bylaw. Personally, I think he is the best CAO this city has seen in a long time.

I would also like to sincerely thank the bylaw department. They were awesome. They kept me informed and in the loop during the entire process.

This is the best customer service I have ever seen from a government entity.

Keep up the great work.
