There are a couple of comments of Mr. Robert Ursel’s letter (Don’t agree with Kavanaugh editorial/Western News/Oct 19) in response to a recent editorial in the Western News that I would like to make.
First, Dr. Ford’s testimony was concise for what she remembers of that night with Mr. Kavanaugh. You never forget who your molester was or their face, voice, etc. Our brains have an awesome way of burning these images in our minds and shuffling some of it away. I believe she did not lie.
Second, the Republicans did not win by a landslide. The Democrats were ahead by over a million votes. After the results came in, the Electoral College put Trump in anyway.
This is how both George Bush and Obama got in for a second term. I don’t agree with this system as the public’s votes don’t seem to matter.
This just seems like a pure waste of billions of dollars and I’m glad we don’t have that in Canada.
