A Penticton citizen has offered up, on more than one occasion, tried, tested and successful theories and plans to deal with Penticton’s housing issues.
These ideas come complete with suggested videos and reports from as far away as Germany. It involves changing what and how developers develop to include the entire spectrum of our population. City hall holds the power to direct changes in development.
It would seem that BC Housing and Interior Health have either not been informed about this by city council or staff or prefer to keep doing the same thing over and over again and expect a different outcome. Isn’t that the definition of insanity?
City hall keeps promoting the same glamorous, high-end buildings and developments and the same “ghetto style” housing complexes that don’t seem to work anywhere on the planet.
If our politicians have not taken all these new theories and studied them, with the idea of improving development for citizens, not developers, then included the other important players in our city, my questions is, “Wouldn’t Freud also find you an interesting study?’’
