I am astonished that Penticton City Council turned down a request for funding from the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church choir who were asked to participate in an amazing opportunity and perform in Carnegie Hall later this year.
I am sure that the choir members have worked hard and have tremendous talent — wow-wee, Carnegie Hall!
In my opinion, people should be encouraged and cheered on for achievements such as this and city council should fund them as a way of standing behind them and supporting them financially as there are costs to this trip.
Imagine — a Penticton choir heading to Carnegie Hall. Woohoo, well done!
