Penticton Western News letters to the editor.

On Wednesday, Nov. 22, the City of Penticton welcomed over 200 people to the trade and convention centre for PenTALKton, an evening of 10 engaging presentations on 10 different themes.

These short presentations by local and regional speakers addressed a broad range of topics — such as affordable housing, sustainable architecture, history, food and the environment — and were intended to help us all create our new Official Community Plan.

I would like to warmly thank the broad range of people who came out to join us at PenTALKton, and want to invite everyone in Penticton to keep working with us to write the plan. In early 2018, we will be hosting a multi-day OCP Expo where everyone can engage in conversations on key themes for the OCP, like growth, transportation, housing and the economy. The expo will be followed by community workshops to refine our goals and policies in these areas.

For those who missed PenTALKton, we will be posting videos of all the presentations to shapeyourcitypenticton.ca. At this website you can also find information about upcoming engagement opportunities as well as other information about the plan.

We look forward to seeing you in the New Year.
