I just wanted to say thank you to the Western News for the article (Nov. 11, Read more: War through the eyes of a child) which was written by your staff photographer/writer, Mark Brett.
I was very privileged to have been asked to lay a wreath at the Selby Park with the West Bench School children, on Nov. 9, commemorating the fallen soldiers, during a ceremony organized by the West Bench School and their principal, Mr. Daryl Teniscia.
Mark Brett was very professional and I appreciated his depth in covering and creating a story about my experiences as a child in a Japanese POW camp in Java, Indonesia. He truly did an outstanding job and I would like to pass on my gratitude for his attention to detail.
