LETTERS: National park worthy of consideration

Province took an innovative and well-thought out approach to protecting key parts of our critically endangered ecosystem.

On Aug. 12 the Province of British Columbia took an innovative and well-thought out approach to protecting key parts of our critically endangered ecosystem and the endangered species that live there.

We have advocated long and hard for the establishment of the South Okanagan National Park Reserve and recognize that, although there is a strong majority of support for the park, there remain some voices of dissent. We feel that Minister Polak has developed an approach that could result in outcomes that could work for everyone.

We will be responding to their Intentions Paper and encourage others to do the same. The paper is worthy of consideration by everyone.
